Alain Joseph Pierre Bourgeois
Alain J.P. Bourgeois, of
Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at
The Moncton Hospital on Monday, September 3, 2018 after a long and
courageous battle with cancer.
Born in
Havre-Aubert, Iles de la Madeleine, QC, he was the son of Marie-Marthe
(Reid) Bourgeois of Iles de la Madeleine and the late Romeo P.
Bourgeois.
Alain was
retired from the Federal Government (UIC) after 37 years’
service. He was a founding member of the Moncton Slow Pokes Hockey
Team, enjoyed gardening, volunteering, golfing and travelling with
Bev. « Papa Boo » also loved spending time with his
granddaughters.
In addition
to his mother, Marie-Marthe, Alain will be sadly missed by his wife,
Beverley (Perry); son, Andrew Bourgeois (Jody Bishop) of Halifax, NS;
daughter, Aimee Bourgeois (Nick Caunter) of England; cherished
granddaughters, Claire, Carys, Mia and Molly; brothers, Ghislain
Bourgeois (Rock) and Luc Bourgeois (Berthe-Helene); sisters, Roberte
Lapierre (Jules), Pierrette Bourgeois, Monique Bourgeois (Serge
Vallière), Marjolaine Bourgeois (Jean-Marc Dugas);
sisters-in-law, Bonnie Perry, Annette Perry, Phyllis Perry and Brenda
Coleman; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family
members.
In addition
to his father, he was predeceased by his infant son,
Bruce.
Visitation
at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on
Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour
Alain’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel
on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Scott Ryder
leading the service. A Reception will follow in the Funeral Home
Reception Centre.
