“Nothing dies that is rememberedâ€
Simon D’Souza, beloved husband of Sylvia D’Souza, father to Sabrina (Peter), Stafford (Sandra), Sydney (late), Sharon (Alban), and Selwyn (Janice) passed away peacefully at the amazing age of 94. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 61 years, his children, grandchildren and siblings, Flora (Sartos), Leo (Lynn), Sunnie (Cynthia), in Canada and overseas, who were a constant source of pride and joy.
Simon and his wife, Sylvia, immigrated to Toronto in 1989 from Karachi, Pakistan. He was a well-respected sound engineer by profession and spent his retirement always keeping himself busy. He loved staying up-to-date with world politics, news and in his social circles utilizing his self-taught computer skills. Music was one of his many passions and he enjoyed playing tunes on his keyboard for friends and family.
Simon always “looked on the bright side of lifeâ€. Watching his demeanor gradually change once diagnosed with dementia, was extremely sad, but he did well with the care and support of his family for the past few years.
He is now at peace in the loving arms of his Maker.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, December 28th at 5:00 to 9:00pm at Accettone Funeral Home in Ajax.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernadette’s Church in Ajax on Saturday, December 29th at 10:30am.
In lieu of floral arrangements, donations to the Covenant House Toronto are greatly appreciated.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Simon D’Souza 1924 2018.
