MACLELLAN’S BROOK – Thomas Miller “Tommy” Forsyth Jr., 50, MacLellan’s Brook, passed away suddenly, Thursday, November 29, 2018 while enjoying an outing with his uncle.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Thomas Miller Forsyth Sr. and the late Corrine Marie (Gouthro) Forsyth; and the son of Gloria Elizabeth (Aylward) MacKenzie. He was employed as a Long-Haul Truck Driver for many years. Tommy enjoyed fishing, fly tying and Cuban cigars. He was a “social butterfly” and if your “lights were on”, he was coming to visit. Tommy spent many hours at his father’s and Uncle Timmy’s garages, helping with numerous projects. In earlier years, he was a member of the pit crew for the Randy MacDonald Racing, Oshawa, Ont., with the American Canadian Tour. His love of racing continued over the years as he travelled throughout the Maritimes with his father, supporting him in competitive drag racing. Tommy was a loving son, husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend, who will be dearly missed by those he loved.
Surviving besides his father, Thomas Sr. (Susan Brooks), Lyons Brook and mother, Gloria, Thorburn; are his wife, Evelyn Marie (Murdoch); children, Ashley (Adam) Rogers and their daughter, Sadie, McLellans Mountain; Travis (Kara) Smeltzer and their son, Ellis, Elgin; Rylee Forsyth, MacLellan’s Brook; siblings, Tammy (John) Sartoris, Thorburn; Shaun (Jacy) Forsyth and their son, Cameron, Thorburn; niece, Samantha Sartoris (Sam Rhyno) and their children, Cole and Emry, Broadway; nephew, Devan Sartoris, Calgary, Alta.; sisters-in-law, Judi (Gary) Murray, MacLellan’s Brook and Wendy Murdoch, Dartmouth; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his mother, Corrine, he was predeceased by grandparents, William “Bill” and Vivian (Livingstone) Forsyth; father and mother-in-law, Les and Shirley (Stewart) Murdoch; uncles, Donald “Donnie” Byrnes and William “Sonny” Forsyth.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3rd in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4th with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Castle Hill Cemetery, MacLellan’s Brook.
