Emma Rose Pratt – 2017

EMMA ROSE PRATT (née REDWOOD)
December 6, 1923 – January 8, 2017
It is with heavy hearts and much love that we say goodbye to Emma (Cook, Koko), who passed away suddenly at the age of 93 years, with family by her side. Emma was a loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, friend, and the Older Elder residing on Ochapowace First Nation. Emma’s 93 years, came with many stories of family and friends. She loved to tell her stories to her grandchildren. Her passion and love for family, animals, those in need, and especially her grandchildren put a smile on her face daily. From Emma’s early years as the founding member of “Riel Creesaultis”, an organization that loved helping the elderly, to pushing her local Politicians to be better people for their community. She was always the go to person when things needed to be done, from her years of community involvement, with not only her own organization, but others that were dear to her heart, such as, The Regina Friendship Center along with many others Community organizations, to moving back to her roots on Ochapowace First Nation as the help guide and mentor the next generation for a better future. Emma was predeceased by her husband Arthur Pratt; parents, John and Martha Redwood; siblings, Agathe Cyr, Lionel Redwood, Cora Redwood-Ostlund, and Olive Lavallee; children, Vern Belanger and Darlene Belanger; grandchildren, Kelly Belanger, Sheri Pelletier, and Aaron Pelletier. Emma is survived by her siblings, Theresa Stevenson, Joyce Haitt (Doykle), and Jubilee Wapamoose; daughters, Charlotte Pelletier, Myrna Desjarlais, Beverly Gillard (Rob), Rhonda Belanger (Conrad), Terri Coffey (Gary), and Yvonne Anderson; sons, Raymond Leibel (Maryanne), Rodney Belanger (Candice), Larry Pratt (Trayce), Allan Pratt, and Dion (Jamie) Belanger; loving pets, Tika and George Pratt; and to all who recognized her as Mom, The Kenny Family, Henry Family, and Bear Family. She also leaves behind her more than 60 plus Grandchildren, many Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren. A Wake will be held on Ochapowace First Nation on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Ochapowace First Nation, on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service where she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Ave. E, Regina, SK.
